Portman Holdings to complete Savona Mill’s makeover into office, retail space this summer

We’re only months away from wrapping up redevelopment of Savona Mill, our adaptive-reuse project in Charlotte’s West End. Dating back to the early 1900s, Savona Mill is a historic structure that’s been repurposed, reimagined and reclaimed for the Charlotte community.

“All of this has the original look because it’s historic. It’s new glass, but we had to replicate the look,” Travis Garland, managing director for office, told the Charlotte Business Journal. “It’s the old brick, and there’s beauty in the kind of roughness of it.”

The first phase will include 180,000 square feet of creative office space and 14,000 square feet of curated ground-floor retail, a rooftop deck and an outdoor plaza that leads to an amphitheater for live music and public community events.
