    Stanley Chin
    Managing Director, China
    Stanley is responsible for all aspects of Portman Holdings’ operations in China, including capital raising, business development, strategy, and team development. He has more than 15 years real estate and financial services experience, including 10 years focusing on real estate transactions and fund management in Asia-Pacific and Europe. Before joining Portman Holdings, Stanley was Director of Portfolio Management within Henderson Global Investors’ Direct Property business, where he raised capital, developed new funds and managed property funds. Earlier Stanley covered deal origination, acquisitions and sales, investment appraisal and project property development/management at HSBC, Rockspring Property Investment Managers and Pramerica. He earned both a Bsc and Msc in Economics from the London School of Economics. Stanley is a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder and a Chartered Accountant.

    Jack Wei
    Development Director
    Jack is currently responsible for coordinating the activities of Portman Holdings’ Shanghai team, a team of external consultants, and Portman’s Atlanta-based resources to produce a comprehensive development and business plan to complete the Jian Ye Li mixed-use development. Before joining Portman Holdings, Jack was Development Director for John Buck International in Abu Dhabi where he managed several developments with a combined value over $680 million. Jack also previously worked with Tishman Speyer, Lincoln Property Company, Accor North America and Bovis Lend Lease. Jack holds both Bachelor and Master degrees in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. He obtained a Master of Science in Real Estate from Columbia University.

    Michael Cox
    Development Director
    Michael is responsible for development deals within Greater China, after successfully completing Portman’s development consultancy on the Shanghai World EXPO redevelopment strategy for retail, hotels and office developments. He has more than 20 years of experience in real estate, ranging from architecture, pre-development, design and construction management, schedule and planning, administrative and cost management capacities. Before joining Portman Holdings, Michael was the Development Director at ALDAR, where he managed premier developments such as the 12 million square-meter Al Raha Beach Development. He has extensive experience within the international development industry, working with corporate identities such as Takenaka in Japan, Turner in the US, Samsung in South Korea, and KCMI in Australia, across sectors such as, residential, retail, hotel, international airports and healthcare. Michael has Bachelor’s degrees in both Architecture and in Environmental Design.

    Hank Hsu
    Development Manager
    Hank is responsible for supporting development tasks and deal origination for Portman Holdings projects in China. Before joining Portman Holdings, Hank was an associate with Pacific Star Group in Singapore, where he evaluated real estate private equity and direct investment opportunities across Asia. Prior to that, he worked with LaSalle Investment Management and Hua Tai Properties. Hank earned a Master’s degree in Real Estate from Harvard University, a M.B.A from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. degree in Architecture from National Cheng-Kung University, Taiwan.

    Chris Blust
    Project Director, Construction
    Chris provides program management for Portman Holdings’ China development projects. He is involved in all aspects of construction and design oversight including estimating, bidding, contract negotiation, scheduling and budget tracking through closeout. With a special emphasis placed on cost and schedule tracking, he has been instrumental in helping establish our information and project management systems. Before joining Portman Holdings, he was a Project Manager for JBE Inc. responsible for program management of the $200 million Indiana Live! Casino in Shelbyville Indiana. Chris graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. degree in Construction Engineering and Management and is currently studying Mandarin Chinese.

    Jeff Liu
    Project Director
    Jeff is responsible for planning, budgeting, permitting as well as design, procurement and construction management for Portman’s property developments in China. Before joining Portman Holdings, Jeff held senior project management roles across Asia with companies such as Mace and Jones Lang LaSalle where he managed multiple projects with a combined value of over $300 million, and was involved in all aspects of project execution. Jeff also has extensive experience and local knowledge in design oversight and permitting for all stages of the development process. He began his career with a government linked design institute and worked there for 6 years. Jeff graduated from Dalian University of Technology, China with a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering and a Master degree in Structural Engineering. He holds another Master degree in Construction Management from the University of Tokyo, Japan. Jeff has also been certified as a LEED Accredited Professional by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

    Irene Gu
    Finance Manager
    Irene is responsible for project finance and analysis related activities for Portman Holdings in China. Irene has experience in financial analysis, financial reporting, tax planning, budgeting and investment evaluation. Before joining Portman Holdings, she worked for Bund Capital as a financial analyst, responsible for two developments in China’s Bohai Bay region. Irene earned a BSc degree in Management and Information Technology from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, UK, and a Master’s degree in Finance from Cass Business School, UK. She is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

    Catherine Chan
    Director of Asset Management
    Catherine is responsible for maximizing asset value by implementing management, marketing, and finance strategies. Before joining Portman Holdings, Catherine was part of the Morgan Stanley team that built the Pinnacle serviced apartment brand , which later merged with Shama, creating the largest serviced residences brand in China. Catherine has experience in public relations and marketing in both the United States and China. She began her career with Merrill Lynch in the United States managing marketing projects promoting its online trading platform during the early years of the internet boom. She moved to Shanghai in 2001 to join a startup marketing consulting company that specialized in brand recognition, event management and public relations. Catherine graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She holds an MBA from Instituto de Empresa (IE), Spain.
