The Marina Mandarin opened in 1987 as part of the Marina Square mixed-use development, which Portman Holdings developed in partnership with a large group of Asian capital sources, including Singapore Land, Shing Kwan Investments, CY Paul, Lim Soe Long, United Overseas Bank and Overseas Union Bank. The hotel is designed for the international business community. Because of it’s location within the larger mixed-use development and its 64,750 ft2 (6,015 m2) of exhibition space, it is a popular venue for many international conferences and conventions.
