Mickey Steinberg
Senior Advisor to the Chairman
As senior advisor to the chairman, Mr. Steinberg provides counsel based on his extensive development and operational expertise in the commercial real estate industry. Mr. Steinberg has a long history of working with the Portman organization, and previously served as executive vice president of the Portman Companies from the 1960s through the 1980s, with responsibilities in the operations of the architecture, development, management and finance components of the organization.
After leaving the Portman Companies, Mr. Steinberg served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Walt Disney Imagineering, where he oversaw the development of theme parks with a collective value of more than $4.5 billion. After leaving Disney, he became chairman and chief executive officer of Sony Retail Entertainment, where he managed the development and operation of Sony retail stores, entertainment centers and a major theater chain.
Mr. Steinberg currently serves as a member of the board of directors of AmericasMart, one of the nations largest wholesale marketplaces; GameStop (GME, NYSE), the nations largest retailer of video games and related hardware and software products; Engineering Concepts Group, a developer, contractor and manager of apartments in the Southeastern United States; and NRI Construction which provides construction services for rehabilitation and repairs of apartment units throughout the United States.
Mr. Steinberg earned both bachelor of science and bachelor of architecture degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a master of architecture degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
