Jim Kohlhoff
Managing Director, Korea

As Managing Director for Portman Holdings Korea Development, Jim is responsible for the management, operation, and business policies and practices related to company activities in Korea. Jim has more than 30 years of management experience across the fields of construction, asset management, marketing, leasing, and finance for corporate and investor owned real estate.

Prior to joining Portman Holdings, Jim was Senior Vice President of Grubb & Ellis Management Services, where he oversaw a portfolio of investor and corporate owned properties in California, Oregon and Washington. Prior to joining Grubb & Ellis, Jim was President of Star Property Management in Seoul, Korea, where he established a property management and leasing company for Lone Star Fund. Additional management experience includes Senior Vice President of Jones Lang LaSalle in London, England; Senior Vice President for Compass Management and Leasing in Southern California, and Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Williams Partners, a boutique full service real estate company that targeted troubled real estate assets.

Jim earned a B.E. degree from Johns Hopkins University, and also holds the Real Property Administrator designation from BOMA. Jim has served on the Board of Directors of BOMA – Los Angeles and has also served on the Engineering Alumni advisory committee for Johns Hopkins.
