Director - Development

With a background in real estate finance, commercial real estate and marketing, Chaewook executes the financial structuring, project feasibility analysis, concept development, project management and asset management of various Portman Holdings’ development projects on an international level.

Before joining Portman Holdings as director of development, Chaewook managed the Asian mortgage division of Sunshine Mortgage Corporation in Atlanta. Prior to that, he worked for Jeju Free International City Development Center in Seoul, Korea, managing the development and investment strategy for seven projects with a collective value of $1.5 billion. While in Seoul, he also worked for Arthur Andersen’s global corporate finance division and several of Samsung Corporation’s teams, including real estate development, residential marketing and internet business.

Chaewook earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in city and regional planning from Hanyang University in Seoul. He also earned a Master’s degree in real estate from Cornell University.
