Michael (Mike) Destro
General Manager

Mike possesses a wide range of industry knowledge, stemming from more than 29 years of experience in the management, asset management and leasing of office, retail and industrial properties. Currently, he is responsible for the property management of the SunTrust Plaza complex, an office development in downtown Atlanta consisting of a 60-story, 1.4 million square foot office tower; a 6-story, 650,000 square foot open floorplan office building; a 2,800 space parking garage; a food court and assorted retail establishments. Mike is also the broker for Portman Management Company, a division of Portman Holdings.

Prior to joining the Portman organization, Mike worked at Equitable Real Estate for 13 years, during which time he was awarded Equitable's Outstanding Employee Award for establishing an important relationship between The Equitable and Asahi Life Insurance Company. Mike has also worked for American Security Insurance Company, Premisys Real Estate Services, Inc. and The Wesley Company.

Mike is a graduate of Georgia State University with a BBA in management, and a minor in real estate. He has served twice on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta branch of the Building Owners & Mangers Association (BOMA), and is a member of the Georgia State University Real Estate Alumni Group.
