David Adler
Managing Director – Portman Risk Management

With almost 30 years in the risk management and insurance industry, David Adler has extensive experience in managing property and casualty insurance programs, employee benefits and retirement programs, and workers’ compensation programs.

David joined the Portman Companies as risk manager in 1986. His responsibilities include worldwide management of both the property/casualty and employee benefits programs for Portman, as well as serving as a consultant to small- to mid-sized companies needing risk management services.

David earned an MBA in risk management and insurance from Georgia State University. He holds an undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Georgia. He also holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation from the Insurance Institute of America.

David has published articles on risk management in Management Accounting magazine. In 1993, he was named as Risk Manager of the Year in his category and to the Risk Management Honor Roll by Business Insurance magazine. In 1994, he was named in Risk & Insurance magazine’s Risk Management Star Search.
